Privacy notice

Last updated: October 9, 2026

This notice describes the current data handling in the LinePal iOS app, also known as My Line Pal.

Screenplays and dialogue

  • When you import a PDF that requires online parsing, the app sends the screenplay to the LinePal backend, which sends it to xAI to extract scenes, characters, and dialogue.
  • The backend processes the screenplay in memory and does not intentionally save a copy. It asks xAI to delete the uploaded file after each parse attempt on a best-effort basis. The hosting provider’s and xAI’s security, logging, and retention practices still apply while a request is processed.
  • AI character voice generation sends dialogue text to the backend and xAI’s text-to-speech service. Generated audio is returned to the app and may be cached on your device.
  • Imported scripts and parsed script data remain in your local library until you delete them or remove the app.

Only upload scripts you own or are authorized to share with these service providers. Do not upload confidential, embargoed, or production material unless that processing has been approved by the rights holder.

Profile and microphone data

  • Your optional profile name and email are stored locally in the iOS Keychain. The current app does not transmit them to the backend or xAI.
  • Rehearsal speech recognition requests on-device processing. The current app does not intentionally upload microphone recordings to the backend or xAI.

Diagnostics and tracking

LinePal does not currently use advertising SDKs, sell user data, or use user data for cross-app tracking. The backend uses request metadata such as request identifiers, file sizes, page counts, timings, and connecting network addresses for operation, diagnostics, and rate limiting. It does not intentionally log screenplay or dialogue text.

Deleting your information

You can delete individual scripts from the app and clear the optional profile fields in the profile editor.
